Twinkling Tiger Terms of Sale and Purchase

When we sell clothing to you

These are the terms by which Twinkling Tiger agrees to sell preloved children’s clothing to you. Please read these Terms carefully before you place any orders. By placing an order with us you agree to accept these Terms. These Terms do not affect your statutory rights.

In order to for us to process and fulfil your order, we will need to process some of your personal data.  We take the privacy and security of your information very seriously and will process all data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which you can find here.

Our products

All items available to purchase through Twinkling Tiger, unless otherwise stated, are preloved (i.e. secondhand). We individually and meticulously check all our items to ensure all clothes listed for sale are good quality and in nearly new condition.

There may be times where there are errors, inaccuracies or omissions with items we have listed for sale so we reserve the right to change or update information or cancel orders if any information is found to be inaccurate (it is possible this may be after you have submitted your order).

The images of the items available to purchase from Twinkling Tiger are for illustrative purposes only. Although we make every effort to display the colours accurately, we cannot guarantee that your device’s display of the colours accurately reflects the colour of an item. Your item may therefore vary slightly from those images. We will not be responsible or liable for any differences between an image and an actual item.

Pricing

All prices are in GBP / £ sterling and not subject to VAT.

We try to ensure that all our items are fairly and accurately and priced however it is possible that an item may occasionally be incorrectly priced. If such an error occurs then we will contact you before processing your order to confirm what action we propose to take and check if you would like to proceed. Please note that this could be your order reducing in price if the item was incorrectly priced higher than it’s correct value.

Orders

You may only place an order with us if you are 18 or over. Once your order is placed you will receive an order confirmation setting out details of your items and the overall cost (including postage if applicable). At this time your order has been accepted and a contract will come into existence between us.

If we are unable to accept your order (this might be because of unexpected limits on our resources which we could not reasonably plan for, because we have identified an error in the price or description of the item or because we are unable to meet a delivery deadline), we will email you and we will not charge you for the item(s).

We will not be responsible for any loss or damage you may experience if you provide incorrect information during the order process and this leads to the wrong items being delivered or your items being sent to the wrong address.

The total amount detailed on your order confirmation must be paid before your items will be dispatched, delivered or can be collected. We accept payment via Paypal, bank transfer or cash (if items are being delivered or collected).


Delivery

Items will normally be delivered by Royal Mail to the address provided by you on your order form although for larger orders a courier may be used instead. Postage costs are not included in the description of items online but will be shown separately on your order confirmation before you make payment. If you are not at home when your order is delivered and if it cannot be posted through your letterbox, Royal Mail (or the courier company) should leave you a note informing you of how to rearrange delivery or collect the item from a local depot. If delivery of your item is delayed, email us at TwinklingTiger@Outlook.com and we will try to help locate it.


We will not be responsible however for delivering an item late or not delivering part of an order if the delay is caused by you not giving us the information we need within a reasonable time of us asking for it. If delivery of your item is delayed by an event outside of our reasonable control, we will contact you as soon as possible and will take steps to minimise the effect of the delay. Provided we do this, we will not be liable for delays caused by the event, but if there is a risk of substantial delay you may contact us if you would like a refund for any items you have paid for but not received.

When you want us to sell for you

These are the terms by which Twinkling Tiger agrees to take preloved children’s clothing from you and sell it on your behalf. Please read these Terms carefully before you register with us to become a seller. By sending items to us to sell you agree to accept these Terms. These Terms do not affect your statutory rights.

In order to for us to sell items on your behalf and pay you commission, we will need to process some of your personal data.  We take the privacy and security of your information very seriously and will process all data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which you can find here.

How it works

If you would like to sell clothes through Twinkling Tiger then please check the ‘What we accept’ section below in the first instance to see if you have items that meet our requirements. If you do and would like to go ahead then you are responsible as the ‘Seller’ to get your clothes to Twinkling Tiger either by post, dropping them off (near Eye, Suffolk or one of our other drop off contact points) or arranging a collection (within 5 miles of Eye, Suffolk or one of our other collection contact points).


You will receive a ‘Seller Agreement’ to complete and return prior to sending us your clothes which will include details of the Twinkling Tiger commission scheme options and will form our contract with you. There will be a number of options to choose from to so you can decide on the commission level that works for you.

Commission payments are made on request once your items have sold.


All items accepted for sale are marketed for a minimum period of 3 months although this may not be immediately following them being dropped off and may not be in one continuous time block to ensure that they are available for purchase during the appropriate season.

What we accept

We accept new and preloved baby and children’s clothing from 0-12 years for both boys and girls. The clothes can be any brand but must be genuine and not counterfeit or copy items.


Clothes must be in excellent condition (eg stitching, buttons and zips must be in good condition; no stains, holes or tears on the outside or inside of the clothes; colours must not be faded; no bobbling or stretching) and recently washed and ironed.


Unfortunately we currently do not accept shoes, accessories (including hats and bags), underwear (including socks and tights), home made clothes or clothes with no size labels.

Depending on the commission scheme you choose when registering with Twinkling Tiger any rejected items will be treated in one of the following ways:

  1. Added to a sale bundle for advertising at a later date (if the item is considered a ‘second’)

  2. Returned to you

  3. Upcycled into a new handcrafted item

  4. Donated to one of our charity partners


Other terms related to selling your items

Once we have accepted your items for sale, we will use one or more of our channels for a minimum of 3 months to attempt to sell your item.  This 3 month period may not be directly after receiving your clothes due to seasonal demand.


After 3 months your item may be discounted or removed from sale. Depending on the commission plan you have chosen your items will then either be returned to you, upcycled to make new items or donated to one of our charity partners.

By agreeing to sell your items through us you accept that that we decide the pricing and any discounts (including bundles) we may deem appropriate to apply.
